Air France AF447

31 May 2009

Air France

Midflight Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Paris, France

Stewarts Law represents the families of passengers on Flight AF447 and are investigating the possible causes of this Air France crash in conjunction with their ongoing investigation into Qantas QF72. The Qantas incident in October 2008 also involved an Airbus A330 aircraft, where computer avionics problems led to the aircraft entering an uncommanded dive. Out dated laws exclude passengers and their families from official accident investigations. We know that families of the Air France Airbus disaster will want answers. Our international aviation lawyers, led by James Healy-Pratt, are now analysing all technical and aviation law matters. Our aviation attorneys are focusing on possible links between Qantas QF72 and Air France 447.

On Thursday 2nd July 2009 the French Air Accident Investigation Bureau (BEA) presented its preliminary observations on the last moments of Air France Flight AF447 and what, it believes, could have caused this disaster.

This presentation was held in the presence of journalists and families of those who were on board. A representative from Stewarts Law also attended. We are now working with our independent experts to analyse the content of the Preliminary Report and reinforce our theories as to the cause of this accident.

The families of victims of the Air France tragedy want answers. To this end we have attempted to answer some of your immediate queries in our document entitled "Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)". This document will also provide you with information in relation to the continuing search for the aircraft's black boxes and the process of identifying the bodies that have been recovered from the ocean.

Stewarts Law will continue to support and work with the lawyers chosen by the Association of Families of Victims of Flight AF447 in their quest for further information and greater transparency during this investigation process.
