The Association of Families of Victims of Flight AF447 seek answers from Air France

02 July 2009

Mr Christophe Guillot-Noel, the brother of Olivier Guillot-Noel who was killed in the Air France AF 447 disaster, sent yesterday a letter to the Chief Executive of Air France seeking answers to a number of crucial questions raised by the Association of Families.

The letter (a copy of which is attached to this press release), was prepared by the Association in consultation with the Air France Attorneys Group, an international group of lawyers and aviation experts providing pro bono support to the Association and many of the bereaved families.

The Association is determined to establish the truth and have involvement in the ongoing investigation, despite being excluded from the process by the law which governs such investigations. The Association plans to establish dialogue with Air France, Airbus and manufacturers of those component parts of the aircraft which may have failed in this incident.

The Associations questions, at this stage, are primarily concerned with the Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) and the Flying Control System on the aircraft. At this stage, the Association does not want to speculate on possible causes, but does want to establish essential factual information.
