Children in Need 2016
22 November 2016
Stewarts Law held its annual bake off to raise money for Children in Need on Friday 18 November.
Each year at the bake off, prizes are given for best-tasting sweet treat, best-tasting savoury treat and the best 'showstopper' judged on looks alone. This year there were 40 entries across all categories from both of our offices.
The competition is organised by Partner Clare Salmon, and this year was judged by good friend of the firm, Frank Burton QC, in London, Head of Leeds office Dan Herman, and Leeds Partner Ben Townsend.
Clare Salmon said:
"This was another successful bake off year and with the entries becoming increasingly more elaborate the competition was fierce!
We had some fantastic prizes up for grabs that were kindly donated by a number of local businesses and it was great to see so many people involved raising funds for such a good cause."
The bakers were battling it out for prizes ranging from bottles of wine and champagne to restaurant vouchers. Here is a selection of photographs from the day.
The firm raised a total of £600 for the charity through cake sales and raffle tickets, and by auctioning off some of the impressive entries. This will go towards the £46 million + raised by this year's Children in Need campaign so far.
Stewarts Law and the Stewarts Law Foundation support a number of charities throughout the year. The bake off is one of the many opportunities for staff to join in with fundraising efforts for specific charities.
