Leeds firm Stewarts Law LLP is to host a charity fundraising breakfast in support of Headway's Action for Brain Injury Week.
The event is being run in partnership with Headway, the brain injury association, which aims to promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and to provide information, support and services to people with brain injury, their families and carers.
Stewarts Law is a renowned specialist in handling complex claims on behalf of people who have suffered catastrophic brain injuries. As well as supporting Headway on a national level, many of the firm's partners and staff act as trustees or volunteers for local Headway branches.
Daniel Herman, head of the firm's Leeds office and himself a brain injury specialist, said: "We deal with many clients whose lives have forever been altered by brain injury. The work Headway does in providing services and support for people with severe brain injuries is absolutely vital, which is why we believe so strongly in actively supporting them.
"Cuts to local authority spending are likely to impact on the work of organisations like Headway, so we believe it is very important to rally behind Action for Brain Injury Week to help raise awareness and help raise funds. We are very pleased to be able play our part."
Headway's Action for Brain Injury Week 2011 takes place from 9-15 May, with Stewarts Law's Fundraising Breakfast being held on Friday, 13 May.
Headway operates through a network of local groups and branches throughout the UK offering a wide range of services, including rehabilitation programmes, carer support, social re-integration, community outreach and respite care. These are supported at a national level by campaigning and information services which includes a helpline providing advice and support.
