Stewarts Law has added a new member to its Leeds-based Commercial Litigation department.
Alistair Kennedy, 28, joins the firm from Walker Morris, where he was a solicitor in the Commercial Litigation department having qualified at the firm in 2006.
Alistair, who lives near Leeds with his wife and new-born baby son, said: "This is a really exciting move for me and I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.
"Stewarts Law has a formidable reputation for acting in high-profile commercial disputes, a recent example being Hull City FC's law suit against its former chairman. The firm has only recently opened the Commercial Litigation department in Leeds to give itself a presence in the business and commercial hub of the north. I'm delighted to be involved in this project from an early stage and looking forward to being part of its success."
Partner Jonathan Sinclair, who opened the Commercial Litigation department at the firm's offices in Bond Court last October, said: "We've got ambitious plans to expand the Leeds team quickly and Alistair is just what we are looking for. He is pro-active, dynamic and at a stage in his career when he can play a major role in our plans.
"I think the firm's role as a niche litigation specialist really appeals to Alistair. He has fantastic experience across a wide range of commercial disputes and especially financial services litigation with both insolvency and banking elements. Conducting claims against banks and other large financial and commercial institutions, however, will be something new to him. I expect him to thrive on the challenge."
