Clive Zietman is Head of the Commercial Litigation Department. He is well known for his banking, fraud and professional negligence work. He has a City background and worked for Herbert Smith within its commercial litigation department. Thereafter he founded his own specialist litigation practice before becoming Head of the Commercial Litigation and Arbitration Group at Manches LLP. Clive has been involved in many high profile cases. He acted in the Guinness and Maxwell litigation. He is described by the Legal 500 as having "a tremendous reputation". The Lawyer describes him as a lawyer with a track record of taking claims against banks.
Andrew Shaw is noted for his expertise in a wide-range of commercial disputes. He has a great deal of experience in UK and heavyweight international arbitration and litigation. He has litigated a wide range of contractual and tort claims on issues relating to telecommunications, IT, private equity funds and professional conduct.
Jane Colston is recommended by the Legal 500 and is described as "tenacious and analytical". She is highly experienced in domestic and international litigation as well as alternative dispute resolution. Jane specialises in complex and high-value commercial banking, contract and tort disputes including professional negligence claims, company, shareholders and partnership disputes. She has been advising on substantial banking-related claims involving Credit Suisse, JP Morgan, HBOS and Lehman Brothers. In 1991 Jane qualified into Lovells' Litigation Department and in 1994 she joined Baker & McKenzie's London Dispute Resolution Department. In 2004 she co-founded niche dispute resolution practice Masseys LLP and in August 2010 she joined Stewarts Law as a Partner following the acquisition of Masseys.
Sean Upson is recommended by the Legal 500 where he has been described as "first class" and "a rising star". He was also named by The Lawyer as one of the "Hot 100 2008" lawyers. Sean has a wide-ranging domestic and international litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution practice, specialising in complex, commercial contract and tort disputes and all aspects of international trade and commerce, insolvency, property and banking disputes. In 1993 he joined Baker & McKenzie where he trained and practised in its London and Sydney Dispute Resolution Departments. In 2004 with a group of Baker & McKenzie litigators, Sean founded niche dispute resolution practice Masseys LLP. In August 2010 Sean joined Stewarts Law as a Partner following the acquisition of Masseys.
Jonathan Sinclair is Head of the Antitrust Litigation Department (firmwide) and the Commercial Litigation Department (Leeds). He specialises in antitrust, competition law, complex commercial litigation and dispute management. Jonathan trained at Clifford Chance in London and is a former Head of Commercial Litigation at Eversheds LLP.
Paul Brehony specialises in complex international and domestic commercial litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution often in a multi-jurisdictional context. Paul advises corporates and individuals from a wide range of industry sectors, with a particular emphasis on fraud and professional negligence. He was formerly leader of the UK Commercial Litigation team at PwC Legal and his experience includes five years within SJ Berwin's Dispute Resolution Department and over five years in the Commercial Litigation Department at Simmons & Simmons.
Fiona Stewart specialises in all aspects of commercial dispute resolution, with particular expertise in international litigation, financial and banking disputes, civil fraud and asset tracing, injunctions, arbitration and disputes involving complex accounting issues. Fiona joined Stewarts Law as a Partner in August 2010 following the acquisition of Masseys LLP.
Keith Thomas specialises in all aspects of commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution and has a wealth of experience in banking disputes, fraud cases of all kinds and heavyweight multi-jurisdictional disputes. He has a particular specialism in cases involving freezing orders and pre-emptive remedies especially in the context of offshore companies and trusts. Fiona Gillett specialises in domestic and international disputes including banking, commercial fraud, contract and tort disputes. She qualified into Baker & McKenzie's London Dispute Resolution Department in 2000 and spent a year working at their Toronto office during 2004. In 2006 Fiona joined niche dispute resolution firm Masseys LLP and became a Partner in January 2009. She joined Stewarts Law as a Partner in August 2010 following the acquisition of Masseys.
