From 1 October 2017, partners Kate Pollock and Kenny Henderson will become Co-Heads of the Competition Litigation department at Stewarts following the retirement of Jonathan Sinclair from active casework. Jonathan will remain a Partner and will continue in a consulting role.
Managing Partner John Cahill said:
“We are delighted to have two such talented and complementary partners to take over from Jonathan who has done a tremendous job in creating a top ranked department and in establishing cartel damages litigation as a specialist litigation area.”
Kate joined the firm in 2011 and specialises in competition litigation, in particular cartel damages claims. Kate has significant experience both in the UK and overseas, most recently acting for major corporates based in France, Sweden and Slovenia. Her clients span the retail, manufacturing, aviation and energy sectors.
Kenny joined Stewarts earlier this year from Covington and Burling. Kenny’s previous practise focussed on representing multinational corporates on the defence side, and acting on some of the highest profile claims filed in Europe to date.
The department is in expansion mode and is recruiting further associates to keep pace with a rapidly expanding workload.
The Competition Litigation department at Stewarts was set up by Jonathan in 2009 to focus on cartel damages litigation. In the following eight years the department litigated a number of substantial cartel damages cases across a range of sectors for major UK and international corporate clients and is top ranked in the legal directories.
