Emily Cox joins Stewarts as a Partner today. Emily joins from Which where she was Head of Media Law and Head of Strategic Litigation. Her role included developing class actions from a claimant perspective and judicial review. Before joining Which, Emily was at Linklaters for 13 years and acted for more than four years in the phone hacking litigation for News Group Newspapers.

Emily joins head of department Ryan Dunleavy who arrived in 2019 from DMG Media (Associated Newspapers Limited). The department focuses on all areas of media and communications disputes acting for both corporates and individuals including on group litigation matters.

Ryan Dunleavy comments:

“There is no doubt that media and communications including digital privacy is a fast developing and rapidly growing litigation sector. Emily will add further strength and depth to the department. Our combined private practice and in-house expertise will provide a compelling client proposition in this hugely challenging area.”

Emily Cox comments:

“I am delighted to be joining such a dynamic and innovative law firm where litigation is the sole focus. I look forward to using my private practice and in-house experience to build further Stewarts’ unique media litigation offering at a time of fast-paced change in the sector.”
