Darren has experience across a broad range of domestic and international matters, including in the areas of class actions / group litigation, director’s duties, insolvency, professional negligence, shareholder disputes, tax and trusts.
Darren has acted for a variety of clients, including airlines, banks, financial authorities, hedge funds, insolvency practitioners, insurance companies, law firms, telecommunications companies, trustees and high net worth individuals.
Darren’s experience includes working internationally and in-house. During his time at his previous firm, Herbert Smith Freehills, Darren completed a one-year secondment to the firm’s Melbourne office and a nine-month secondment to one of the ‘big four’ accountancy firms.
Darren is currently advising over 250 individuals in respect of claims arising out of their investments in film schemes promoted and operated by the Ingenious group of companies. The case was named in The Lawyer’s Top 20 cases of 2018.
Darren studied law at Oxford University before completing the Legal Practice Course in London. He trained at Herbert Smith Freehills (including a six month secondment to the firm’s Advocacy Unit) and practised in its Dispute Resolution division for six years before joining Stewarts in November 2015.
