Her experience includes advising on matters arising out of breach of contract, breach of indemnity, professional negligence and misrepresentation.
She has significant experience acting on matters where there are allegations of fraud, advising on asset recovery, injunctive relief (Norwich Pharmacal orders, worldwide freezing orders, third party disclosure orders and ancillary contempt of court proceedings) and enforcement of judgments.
Faranak’s cases include defending a US client in a $1bn indemnity claim in the Commercial Court regarding the contamination of a river in the US and assisting on a claim brought by a group of leading UK retailers against Visa and MasterCard regarding interchange fees.
She has also advised on a matter involving serious allegations of fraudulent misrepresentation and conspiracy surrounding a repurchasing agreement, successfully obtaining a $20m High Court judgment and a worldwide freezing order.
Faranak joined Stewarts in 2016, having trained with CMS Cameron McKenna and worked for two years as an associate at a boutique litigation firm. She obtained her first degree in International Relations & Development Studies and passed her professional legal qualifications with distinction from Bristol Law School.
Cases that Faranak has advised on were named as part of the Lawyer’s Top 20 cases of 2015 and Top 20 cases of 2016.
Faranak loves being in nature, especially on the Isle of Iona, in South America and in the Caribbean, coupled with a soundtrack consisting of a range of music from Schubert and jazz to electronic music.
