Julian Chamberlayne, Scott Rigby and Christopher Deacon earn specialist accreditation from the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and appointed as assessors.

As known leaders in the field of accidents and illnesses abroad the International Injury team, Julian, Scott and Christopher, were fast-tracked into the new ‘accidents and illnesses abroad’ accreditation scheme by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyer’s (APIL) and appointed as assessors for future applicants.

The recent announcement came with an additional accreditation for Christopher as he was also made up to an APIL Senior Litigator in the process.

An APIL accreditation provides a quality mark of specialist expertise for solicitors dealing with personal injury claims. The accreditation scheme demonstrates that an APIL lawyer has achieved a high standard of: knowledge; understanding; know-how; skill; and behaviour.

The ‘accidents and illnesses abroad’ accreditation, which Christopher helped APIL devise, specifically acknowledges that a solicitor is “able to manage and progress a claim arising from an accident or illness abroad, and/or which involves consideration of another jurisdiction and/or a foreign applicable law, so as to establish, assert and enforce, in an effective and efficient manner, the rights of a client damaged or disadvantaged by the negligence or breach of another party. He or she is competent to take, without supervision, key decisions on accepting cases, assessing risks, evaluating offers and issuing proceedings in the UK or out of jurisdiction.”

APIL is a not-for-profit campaign organisation that has been fighting for the rights of injured people for over 25 years. Over those years APIL has grown to become the leading, most respected organisation in this field, constantly working to promote and develop expertise in the practise of personal injury law, for the benefit of injured people. They are dedicated to changing the law, protecting and enhancing access to justice, and improving the services provided for victims of personal injury.

The Stewarts International Injury Team is top ranked by both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, the two leading independently researched guides to the legal profession. The Legal 500 stated that the team is “the ‘Go-to’ firm on a range of high-value catastrophic injury claims abroad”.
