Partner in the Divorce and Family Department, Stewarts Law LLP
Toby advises clients in relation to a broad range of family law issues arising on the breakdown of marriage or cohabitation, with a particular emphasis on the financial claims that arise on divorce. He is experienced in dealing with international cases often involving trusts, family businesses and tracing assets.
Toby also advises on all private children law matters, from disputes about parental arrangements and financial claims to the relocation of children across jurisdictions.
On the non-contentious side, Toby advises in relation to pre and post nuptial agreements, cohabitation contracts and asset protection.
Toby is a regular contributor of articles to legal publications and the wider media, and has been featured in the Times, the Financial Times, Spears Wealth and the New Law Journal.
Toby was recently listed as one of the "Top 50 Family Lawyers in London" by Spear's Wealth Magazine 2016, which described him as "unflappable" and "a sage family lawyer respected by peers for his client skills, work ethic and good judgment".
In 2016, Toby was named in Citywealth's Leaders List, which described him as "fantastic with clients and a great tactician. Toby is a committed member of Resolution, having sat on the London Young Resolution Committee for 7 years.
Toby graduated from Edinburgh University in 2001. After attending the College of Law he undertook his training contract at Payne Hicks Beach. Upon qualification in 2006 he joined matrimonial niche practice Hughes Fowler Carruthers Ltd before then moving to Charles Russell Speechlys in 2008, where he was promoted to Senior Associate. He joined Stewarts Law as a Partner in August 2015.
Toby is married with two young children.
