Carla is a solicitor with over 10 years experience in family law. As an associate solicitor, Carla has advised on a wide range of private family law matters including financial claims for both married and unmarried couples on relationship breakdown, pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements as well as advising on children law matters including financial provision, contact and residence.

Experience

  • Assisting in an international relocation matter concerning a mother seeking permission to relocate to New Zealand with a young child
  • Advising a father in relation to an application for financial provision brought by his adult children
  • Advising clients in cases of domestic abuse and securing emergency orders for protection
  • Assisting in the reported case Solovyev v Solovyeva [2014] EWFC 1546 concerning the validity of a divorce obtained in the Russian Consulate in London and an application, by consent, for a declaration of marital status

Career

Carla graduated from the London School of Economics with a degree in Accounting & Finance. She went on to complete her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course (LLB) at the College of Law, London (now the University of Law).

Carla qualified as a solicitor at Family Law in Partnership in 2010 having completed her training contract at the firm. She worked as an associate solicitor and latterly as the firm’s professional support lawyer before joining Stewarts in February 2021.
