Stewarts is monitoring the progress of the investigation into an accident involving a Piper PA-Cherokee in West Sussex on 11 February 2022, seriously injuring the pilot and a passenger.
On 11 February 2022, at approximately 13:00 BST, a Piper PA-32-300 Cherokee Six aircraft with registration G-KNOW crashed in Titch Hill, West Sussex. The accident resulted in serious injuries to both the pilot and a passenger, who were airlifted to hospital. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families. There has been speculation that the pilot issued a mayday call picked up by Shoreham Airport air traffic control, reporting engine failure. However, the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB)’s preliminary report into what happened is unlikely to be available for several months, with the final accident report unlikely to be released until approximately two years after the accident.
The investigation

The accident happened only four miles away from the site of the Shoreham Airshow accident, which claimed the lives of 11 men in August 2015. Stewarts continues to represent most of the families bereaved by that tragedy.
