Mikolaj has both contentious and transactional experience in tax. He advises clients on a variety of tax issues, including corporate income tax, VAT, cross-border trade and personal income tax. His experience spans multiple industries, having worked with clients in financial services, entertainment, technology and healthcare.
Experience
- Advising Ferrero International SpA on the VAT treatment of Nutella Biscuits in the UK
- Advising a large Chinese technology company on the tax treatment of employee benefit trusts belonging to its employees seconded to the UK from China
- Advising a multinational fund on the potential UK tax liabilities related to PAYE
- Advising a global film studio on third-party notices issued by HMRC and the company’s application for closure notices.

Career
Mikolaj read Scots and English Law at the University of Aberdeen before pursuing postgraduate studies in Taxation at Oxford University. He went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School. Mikolaj trained and qualified at EY Law and joined Stewarts in 2025 following the successful completion of his training contract.

Outside of work, Mikolaj enjoys spending time with his family and managing his home team on Football Manager.
