Expertise

Guy acts for children and adults who have sustained life-changing injuries as a result of clinical negligence. He has a particular interest and experience in birth injury, neonatal and paediatric injury claims where children have sustained avoidable brain injuries.

Guy has successfully resolved numerous cases for in excess of £10 million in compensation, most recently, recovering £22 million in damages for a child with cerebral palsy caused by oxygen starvation at birth and £20 million in damages for a child with cerebral palsy caused by an avoidable delay in diagnosis and treatment of GBS meningitis shortly after birth.

Guy is regularly instructed to investigate potentially substandard midwifery, obstetric, neonatal and paediatric NHS medical treatment resulting in neurological injuries such as hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE), periventricular leukomalacia (PVL), hypoglycaemia, encephalitis, sepsis and meningitis.

Guy is also experienced in fatal, orthopaedic, spinal, stroke and other serious injury medical negligence claims.  He is passionate about his clients, access to justice and improving NHS care.

Career

Guy completed his training contact at Kingsley Napley (London) and qualified into their medical negligence department in 2011 before re-locating to Yorkshire to start a family in 2015.  He joined Leeds based Minton Morrill (subsequently acquired by Fletchers) working there for 10 years (and becoming a Partner during this time) before moving to Stewarts in February 2026.

Guy has an LLB (Law) and an LLM (Public International Law with International Relations).

Recently concluded cases include:

• £22 million for a child who suffered oxygen starvation at birth resulting in cerebral palsy.
• £20 million for a neonatal delay in diagnosis of GBS meningitis resulting in cerebral palsy.
• £14 million for a paediatric delay in diagnosis of a metabolic condition (homocystinuria) causing an avoidable brain injury.
• £12 million for a child who suffered oxygen starvation at birth resulting in cerebral palsy.
• £1 million for an adult who received substandard orthopaedic treatment.
