Having previously advised insurers and completed secondments with a global insurance broker and a major insurer, Alexandra now draws on this experience to advance the interests of policyholders.

She has significant experience in multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration, having advised clients on disputes across Europe, the Middle East, North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Caribbean.

Her experience includes:

  • Advising policyholders on major construction insurance claims, including Professional Indemnity and Construction All Risks claims in the UK and internationally
  • Acting on large‑scale global energy losses including wind, solar, hydroelectric and conventional power projects involving physical damage and business interruption or delay in start-up losses
  • Advising on high‑value disputes and arbitrations arising from turbine, generator, transformer and cable failures, including a claim exceeding $1 billion
  • Advising on $5 billion aviation losses arising from the Russia-Ukraine conflict
  • Advising on large‑scale Covid-19 business interruption claims across multiple jurisdictions.

Experience

  • Advising commercial leaseholders, developers and suppliers on claims against contractors arising from alleged defective workmanship at a large UK airport, Category A and B fit-out works in Canary Wharf, a luxury residential development in London, and a high-profile tourist attraction in Dubai
  • Advising on a professional indemnity claim arising out of a high-profile construction dispute involving multiple schools in the Republic of Ireland
  • Advising project owners on Construction All Risks and Operational All Risks claims following the catastrophic failure of a wind turbine at one of Europe’s largest onshore wind farms, resulting in physical damage and business interruption losses
  • Advising a designer and manufacturer in a $20 million arbitration in Singapore concerning alleged gas turbine defects at a power plant in Malaysia
  • Advising project owners of a solar power plant in Morocco on a $140 million defects claim against an EPC contractor
  • Advising on an Operational All Risks claim following the destruction of a hydroelectric power plant in India.

Career

Alexandra trained and qualified at Clyde & Co, where she advised insurers and reinsurers on complex construction and energy coverage claims and disputes.

She later joined DLA Piper, progressing from Senior Associate to Legal Director, where she continued to focus on construction and energy insurance matters and expanded her practice to include high‑profile Covid‑19 property insurance claims, aviation losses and reinsurance disputes.

Alexandra has also completed secondments with a global insurance broker and a major insurer.

She joined the Policyholder Disputes team at Stewarts as a partner in 2026.
