Stewarts has again featured on the ‘Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For’ list, appearing at 64.

Only eight law firms across the country made the cut, the same number as in 2018 and down from 10 in 2017.

The firm has focused on inclusion and employee well-being initiatives throughout the year following feedback from a staff survey, which indicated that these are very important issues for our partners and staff.

Our Inclusion Committee has been successful in achieving its initial goals, which were to improve our commitment to the well-being of our people, flexible working arrangements and career development opportunities.

The future career aspirations of all our people are important to us, we are making changes to support and reflect these. For example, we have introduced the new job title of Legal Director as a positive alternative to partnership.

The Inclusion Committee benefits from the support of a team of very engaged Diversity Champions. We have also introduced accredited ‘Mental Health First Aiders’ who are available across the firm at all levels to listen and talk in confidence and offer guidance to anyone who has personal concerns or is worried about a colleague.

In addition, we have given our people access to an app that helps monitor mood and motivation, and we encouraged our people to take part in a ‘Time to Talk’ day earlier this month.

John Cahill, Managing Partner, commented:

“I am very pleased that Stewarts appears again in the ‘Best Companies to Work For’ list.

“The firm has a strong culture that focuses on the well-being of our people and we continue to develop this in line with our core values: teamwork, innovation, manners and excellence.”
