To kick off 2022, we are delighted to welcome Dr Dane Rowley, Clinical Neuropsychologist, who spoke about the problem of engagement in neurorehabilitation after Traumatic Brain Injury.

Dr Rowley introduced some approaches and techniques for engaging hard-to-reach clients and consider how insight impacts upon engagement.

Dr Rowley explored some traditional approaches to working with clients who lack insight and will consider some alternatives, discussing when these may be required.

About the guest speakers

Dr Dane Rowley

Dr Dane Rowley, Clinical PsychologistDr Rowley is a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist with a background in neurorehabilitation across NHS and private inpatient, residential and community settings. He has completed post-doctoral MSc training in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Bristol, and am entered on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN) which is the gold standard for the profession in the UK.

Dr Rowley currently holds a role as a Principal Clinical Neuropsychologist in a city NHS hospital Trust, providing neuropsychological assessment and interventions to both inpatient and outpatient neurology patients, in addition to undertaking a private practice as a treating clinician in the medico-legal arena.

Dr Rowley has recently completed a three-year Honorary Senior Clinical Lectureship at the University of Hull, and remains involved in supervising doctoral theses and several ongoing research projects in cognitive and clinical neuropsychology. He is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Neuropsychology.
