Most recently she secured over £30 million for a child with cerebral palsy after an avoidable delay in diagnosing hypoxia (lack of oxygen) prior to birth.

Alexandra also has a wide range of experience in dealing with amputation claims including those arising from infection, sepsis, meningitis, ischemia and diabetes.

Additionally, she represents clients in adult brain injury cases, severe orthopaedic cases and spinal cord injury cases.

She has secured numerous high-value settlements for her clients, including:

  • Recovering over £31 million for a child who suffered chronic hypoxia during birth and additional hypoglycaemia in the neonatal period, resulting in cerebral palsy
  • Achieving over £30 million for a child who sustained hypoxia during birth following a failure to expedite delivery
  • Securing a full admission of liability and significant interim payments for a child who suffered hypoglycaemia at birth due to a failure to establish effective feeding
  • Recovering over £3 million for a client who required an above knee amputation after a delayed diagnosis of ischaemia
  • Achieving £1.2 million for an 81-year-old client with limited life expectancy who underwent an above knee amputation following delays in diagnosing and treating a diabetic wound
  • Acting for the family of a sportsperson and securing a significant compensation award following his death due to the failure to diagnose and treat sepsis.

Career

Prior to joining Stewarts in 2026, Alexandra completed her training contract and spent more than 14 years at Irwin Mitchell, where she specialised exclusively in complex medical negligence claims. During her time there, she was promoted to partner and led a team of 12 specialist solicitors.

Accreditations and Memberships

Alexandra is a member of APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) and has been accredited with senior litigator status.

Alexandra’s cases have been regularly reported in regional and national press. Most recently, The Telegraph reported on one of her cases following an admission of liability in an amputation claim arising from delays in treating compartment syndrome after a life-changing incident. She has also authored numerous articles for PI Focus and other publications, offering commentary on accommodation claims for clients with short life expectancy and raising awareness of key indicators in sepsis diagnosis.

Alexandra has provided legal training to other lawyers and experts and regularly presents to NHS Trusts and charities to raise awareness and improve patient safety.

Personal

Alexandra enjoys discovering new local eateries in her spare time and testing out new recipes on family and friends. She is an enthusiastic researcher and traveller, although her journeys look a little different these days thanks to life with her energetic toddler.
