Arjun acts across a wide range of industries and policy lines, with a focus on commercial and financial disputes. He often represents policyholders in connection with:

  • Warranty and indemnity (W&I) insurance claims arising out of mergers and acquisitions
  • Political risk insurance claims arising out of major global events, including matters engaging complex sanctions regimes
  • Directors’ and Officers’ (D&O) liability claims, including board-level and management exposures
  • Business interruption claims following damage to property, pandemics or cyberattacks
  • Cyber risk claims, including advice on the recoverability of fines or penalties and losses following cyberattacks and data breaches

Arjun is also a key member of the firm’s Singapore and India practices and maintains close links with both jurisdictions.

Experience

Arjun has acted for:

  • Arena Racing Corporation Ltd, in its multi-million-pound Covid-19 business interruption claim before the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. The Court of Appeal hearing was one of The Lawyer’s Top 10 Appeals of 2025. The Supreme Court appeal concerns the treatment of state benefits under savings clauses in insurance policies and is estimated to be worth around £70bn to the UK Treasury.
  • London’s ExCeL centre, in London International Exhibition Centre v Allianz and Ors, named one of The Lawyer’s Top 10 Appeals of 2024
  • An international asset manager, in its warranty and indemnity insurance claim arising from breaches of warranty in an acquisition
  • A US drilling operator, in LCIA arbitration relating to its political risk claim for loss of an oil drilling platform abandoned following the Russian invasion of Ukraine
  • An international mining company, in its Directors’ and Officers’ (D&O) liability claim for costs incurred in litigation against a senior executive in multiple jurisdictions
  • A European healthcare group, advising on the recoverability of regulatory fines under its cyber policy following a significant ransomware attack

Career

After studying Law at Downing College, Cambridge, Arjun trained at a leading US law firm, gaining transactional and advisory experience in the technology, life sciences, private equity and funds sectors. He also completed a secondment with the management liability claims team of a global insurance broker.

Personal

At university, Arjun caught the bug for writing Wikipedia articles and has since created or significantly expanded about 20. He remains pleasantly surprised that people other than him read them.
