Emily has experience handling a varied caseload, in particular birth injury cases (including neonatal, paediatric and maternal injury claims), substandard surgery cases and complex fatal accident matters.
She investigates claims from the preliminary, investigative stages through to settlement and has secured settlements for multiple clients.
Emily also assists senior colleagues with high-value birth injury cases, often exceeding £20 million in value.
Experience
- Investigated and settled case involving a child injured at birth due to inappropriate use of forceps.
- Assisted a senior Partner on £20 million cerebral palsy case following an avoidable delay in diagnosing and treating GBS meningitis shortly after birth.
- Assisted in securing £14 million settlement for a young adult who sustained an avoidable brain injury following delayed diagnosis and treatment.
- Secured £90,000 following substandard treatment to Mother following birth of her child.
- Secured a five figure settlement for wife of late husband who sadly passed away following a delay in treatment.
- Settled litigated fatal case stemming from a delay in diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary embolism.
Career
Emily graduated university in 2018 with a First Class Honours Masters in Law. She began her legal career as a paralegal at Stewarts from 2018 to 2020. She completed her training contract with Minton Morrill Solicitors (later acquired by Fletchers) in 2022 and rejoined Stewarts in May 2026 as an associate.
Personal
Outside of work, Emily enjoys reading, taking long walks with family and friends and trips to the theatre.
