Expertise

Frances has particular experience of disputes in the financial services industry, both on behalf of institutions and individuals. She has worked on cases involving complex limitation, loss and jurisdiction issues.

Alongside her work on a broad range of commercial disputes, Frances also has a year’s post-qualification experience in the firm’s Employment department, where she gained significant experience of issues surrounding breach of contract, LLP disputes and breaches of fiduciary duties, as well as complex Employment Tribunal claims.

Experience

Frances acts on a range of commercial disputes. Matters on which she has acted include a claim on behalf of a group of institutional investors in a multimillion Euro dispute against a leading rating agency and bank; and a number of disputes surrounding shareholder status and leaver provisions.

Career

Frances gained her undergraduate degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Christ Church, University of Oxford. She subsequently obtained her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course.

Frances undertook her training contract at Stewarts and qualified in 2015. She spent a year working between our Employment and Commercial Litigation departments before specialising in commercial litigation.

Personal

Frances is originally from Glasgow. She enjoys being active, is a keen skier, and is a hopeful Scottish rugby fan.
