Joseph has significant experience in acting for both paying and receiving parties in costs disputes that stem from complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters. In addition, Joseph has extensive knowledge and experience of advising on and dealing with issues relating to alternative fee arrangements and third-party litigation funding.

Experience

Joseph’s recent experience includes acting on behalf of:

• a state and its national bank in a number of costs disputes following the conclusion of claims it made relating to a global custody agreement.
• a major international law firm in relation to retainer and fees disputes with its former client.
• a sovereign state body in respect of claims for costs pursued against it for sums approaching £20 million.

Career

Joseph joined Stewarts in 2016 having worked previously for at a specialist costs firm and subsidiary of Capita PLC.
