Josh acts on a broad range of commercial disputes for individuals, corporate clients and insolvency practitioners. He has particular expertise in civil fraud, shareholder disputes, professional negligence, breach of contract and insolvency claims. His work has covered a variety of sectors including banking, real estate and sports.

Experience

  • Acted on a complex shareholder dispute concerning a partnership of over 50 entities worth approximately £120m.
  • Acted for the joint liquidators of a UK company in claims totalling over £1m for breach of contract, unlawful means conspiracy and breach of directors’ duties against its former director and manufacturer based in Germany.
  • Acted in Bishopsgate Contracting Solutions Ltd v O’Sullivan (2021), successfully representing the defendant regarding allegations of multiple breaches of duty under Sections 172 and 174 Companies Act 2006 and securing indemnity costs.
  • Acted for the claimant in a breach of contract claim against a Formula One team.

Career

Josh joined Stewarts in November 2024. He trained at Howard Kennedy LLP and qualified into their Commercial Dispute Resolution team in September 2020.

Before becoming a solicitor, Josh completed a law degree at Cardiff University. He was a paralegal at international City law firms before completing the Legal Practice Course and Master of Laws degree (LLM) in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law.

Personal

Josh enjoys watching live sports in particular football, cricket and rugby. He also regularly trains for and participates in triathlons.
