Natalya has assisted on a wide range of complex and high-value cross-border injury disputes relating to injuries sustained in various jurisdictions such as the Maldives, Spain, France, Morocco, South Africa and America. This experience has provided her with insight into many different legal systems worldwide.
Natalya has prepared multi-million-pound schedules of loss, court proceedings and witness statements in support of court applications. She has prepared several applications to serve out of the jurisdiction, including in the Isle of Man and Spain, and has then prepared and liaised closely with the Foreign Process Service and foreign lawyers to serve proceedings.
Experience
- Assisting on a high-value personal injury claim involving complex maritime law for an individual who sustained life-changing injuries at sea.
- Assisting a US student to bring a claim against the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) after they sustained a brain injury in a hit and run while studying abroad.
- Assisting in successfully defending a jurisdiction challenge before the High Court, where it was held that England and Wales was the appropriate jurisdiction. The defendant’s application was dismissed.
- Taking a lead role in running two claims against the MIB for clients who were injured in cycling accidents.
- Assisting in securing Spanish jurisdiction and arranging for service out on multiple Spanish defendants using Article 5 and 10 of the Hague Convention.
Career
Natalya studied Law at Newcastle University before completing the LPC with the LLM at Northumbria University, where she wrote a dissertation on the sex work industry and how rape shield legislation fails to protect women. Prior to joining Stewarts in 2022, Natalya worked as a paralegal at a regional firm where she gained experience in property litigation and personal injury litigation.

Personal
Natalya enjoys exercising outside of work, regularly running, weight training and learning to play tennis. She loves reading and is always looking for her next 5-star recommendation.
She grew up by the sea and is the happiest on a beach, whether in the UK or when travelling the world.
