Nooreen has worked on a wide variety of disputes, including finance, technology, pharmaceuticals, energy and construction. She has extensive experience representing clients before Indian courts and assisting in matters before courts in Singapore and London. She also sits as arbitrator.

 

Career

Nooreen brings a decade of experience as a barrister in India, where she argued before both the Supreme Court of India and High Court of Delhi. She graduated from National Law University Delhi and possesses higher rights of audience before the Senior civil and criminal courts in England and Wales.

Experience

  • Represented Indian promoters in a shareholder dispute, concerning exit rights of investors in an Indian financial services company with claims of $150 million.
  • Acted as junior counsel in a Singapore seated arbitration in a shareholders’ dispute with claims of approximately $132 million.
  • Represented promoters and shareholders in a Singapore seated arbitration arising out of a shareholders’ dispute with claims of $80 million.
  • Represented an Indian hospitality company in a Singapore seated arbitration with claims and counterclaims of $35 million.
  • Represented a Singapore trading company in a Singapore seated arbitration and in setting – aside arbitration proceedings arising out of back-to-back contracts.
  • Represented an Indian petrochemical company in a London seated construction arbitration with claims and counterclaims of €22 million and $80 million.
  • Represented a major Indian construction company in a Singapore seated SIAC arbitration with claims and counterclaims exceeding USD 50 million, as well as in simultaneous enforcement proceedings in New Delhi and setting-aside challenges in Singapore.
  • Appointed as Arbitrator by the High Court of Delhi (2024), Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (2022 – 2023) and as Tribunal Secretary in proceedings administered by SIAC and LCIA – India.
