"It’s so comforting to see Nick has everything he needs to get on with his life."

Nick was injured while on his motorcycle, and sustained orthopaedic injuries and a severe brain injury. In this video Nick and his mother tell his story, alongside Stephanie Clarke, partner in our Personal Injury team.

Watch Nick’s story

Nick was initially taken to the intensive care unit of The Royal London Hospital, before a transfer to the NHS rehabilitation unit at the Homerton University Hospital. After some months in a coma he began to emerge and was immediately keen to engage with rehabilitation as much as possible. Completing physio five days a week, as well as regular speech therapy, Nick refused to accept that he might never walk, speak or eat again.

As well as therapy and physical adaptations, interim payments were able to fund transport and other support for Nick to regain his independence. Having secured a settlement, Nick and his family have moved into a home adapted for his needs.

With financial security for the future, Nick is living the life he wants, caring for his daughter and with another child on the way. “It’s so comforting to see Nick has everything he needs to get on with his life.” Nick’s mother says.

Stewarts is proud to have helped Nick secure an eight-figure settlement which included interim payments during his case to fund his rehabilitation, equipment and to purchase and make adaptations to a single-story home.
