"I can live in the home that I love, doing the things that I love."
Evette was injured at work, which resulted in her needing a below knee amputation. In this video she tells her story, alongside Anjali Krishnan, partner in our Personal Injury team.
Watch Evette’s story

In the first few days after her injury, Evette was unsure what the extent of the damage to her legs would be. She was eventually told she would require a below-knee amputation on one leg.
Living in the countryside with animals including horses, she was determined to maintain her active lifestyle following the surgery. One of the priorities when securing interim payments for Evette was securing the best possible prosthetics so she could continue her multiple dog walks a day and care for her animals.
Evette was also active in the community, and wanted to remain in her home so she could live near her friends and family. The house required extensive adaptations, including the installation of a three-floor lift and wet room. Achieving a settlement in her case to fund these changes meant Evette could maintain her independence while remaining in the home and community that she loves.
Stewarts is proud to have helped Evette secure a seven-figure settlement which included interim payments during her case to fund her rehabilitation, equipment and adaptations to her home.
