Stewarts is proud to partner with one of the UK’s leading film festivals, Leeds International Film Festival 2025 (LIFF), for the fourth consecutive year, once again sponsoring the LIFF Shorts category.

The 39th Leeds International Film Festival will take place from 30 October – 16 November, showcasing new and diverse film making talent by providing a platform that films may not otherwise receive in the UK.
Stewarts has sponsored LIFF since 2022 as part of our commitment to supporting arts in Leeds. Previously, we have sponsored the relaunch of Leeds Art Gallery and the exhibition of Grayson Perry’s ‘The Vanity of Small Differences’ at Temple Newsam House. In London, we have enjoyed a long-standing partnership with the Royal Academy Schools, providing a scholarship and bursary to a postgraduate student and sponsoring the RA Schools Show.
This year’s Leeds International Film Festival:
Over 18 days, LIFF showcases over 250 features and shorts across five main sectors: official selection for new narrative features; cinema versa for documentaries; fanomenon for fantastic genre films; LIFF Shorts; and LIFF Spotlights.
The LIFF Shorts category has been extended for 2025, the competition opens on the 5 November at Everman cinema showcasing eight short film competitions. The competitions include:
- The Louis le Prince International Short Film Competition (named after the Leeds pioneer who made the world’s first moving images in 1888).
- The World Animation Competition
- British Shorts
- Yorkshire Shorts
- Documentaries
- Leeds Queer Shorts
- Leeds Screendance
- Music Videos
- Fanomen
The spectacular awards evening on the 8 November will select and screen a winner within each competition category.
