Stewarts is proud to partner with the Leeds International Film Festival for the third consecutive year, once again sponsoring the LIFF SHORTS category in 2024.
Taking place from 1-17 November, the 38th Leeds International Film Festival will host a full programme of some of the best new films of 2024, including both established talent and promising newcomers. Stewarts is a Lead Sponsor for this year’s festival.
Dan Herman, Head of our Leeds office, comments: “We are delighted to partner with Leeds International Film Festival once again. LIFF is a longstanding example of the success of Leeds as a global city, bringing together talented artists and filmmakers and celebrating their hard work and dedication to their craft. Last year, Stewarts celebrated its 20th anniversary since the foundation of our Leeds office, and we are committed to continued investment in our people and practices working for clients in Yorkshire, across the UK and overseas.”
Stewarts has partnered with the Leeds International Film Festival since 2022. As part of our commitment to supporting the arts in Leeds, we have previously sponsored the relaunch of Leeds Art Gallery and the exhibition of Grayson Perry’s The Vanity of Small Differences at Temple Newsam House. In London we have enjoyed a long-standing partnership with the Royal Academy Schools, providing a scholarship and bursary to a postgraduate student and sponsoring the RA Schools Show.

Showcasing a varied slate of short films, the LIFF SHORTS category has been extended in 2024 to include eight separate competitions. The section’s programmers have reviewed thousands of entries to compile an exciting programme this year, featuring short films from over 120 countries.
This year’s subsections include:
- British Competition
- Documentary Short Film Competition
- Leeds Music Video Competition
- Leeds Queer Short Film Competition
- Leeds Screendance Competition
- Louis le Prince International Short Film Competition
- World Animation Competition
- Yorkshire Short Film Competition
On 9 November, LIFF SHORTS will culminate in an awards event at Howard Assembly Room with a winner selected within each competition, followed by a series of screenings for the winning films.
