For the eighth consecutive year, Stewarts is listed in The Times’ annual report on the best law firms in England and Wales.
The firm is listed in four categories. Stewarts is ranked for inheritance and succession, family, commercial dispute resolution and personal injury and clinical negligence.
The Times Best Law Firms surveyed more than 3,900 solicitors and barristers to identify the best law firms across 28 categories and therefore rankings are based entirely on peer feedback.
Divorce and family
Top-ranked in all leading directories as leaders in their field, our Divorce and Family team acts for high-net-worth individuals based in the UK and overseas.
The Times lists the team among the top three family practices in England & Wales. It also once again highlights Sam Longworth and Lucy Stewart-Gould’s success at the Court of Appeal in the case of Standish v Standish, where they secured the largest ever reduction in a divorce award (from £45 million to £25 million).
Personal injury and Clinical Negligence
For another year, our Personal Injury and Medical Negligence teams are listed in the top three injury practices in England and Wales for the sixth consecutive year.
This year, the team secured a six-figure settlement in the case of a motorcyclist who tragically died after a collision involving a US servicewoman near RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk. The guide also commended the work of our Aviation team, highlighted their pivotal role in the high-profile Air India Flight 171 case.
Commercial dispute resolution
This category recognises the work of our Commercial Litigation and related commercial disputes teams, including our International Arbitration team. Stewarts previously also enters Band 1 for Dispute Resolution Specialist Firms, a new ranked Chambers UK category. The team is described as having “a considerable presence in the UK’s disputes market” and being renowned for “its capabilities in commercial litigation, arbitration and group action”.
Inheritance and succession
Our Trust and Probate Litigation team is recognised in the inheritance and succession category.
