Stewarts is pleased to announce that Dan Herman has been appointed as Head of the firm’s Clinical Negligence department on an interim basis from 1 May 2023, as Muiris Lyons retires.
Dan will combine this with his existing role as Head of Personal Injury. Dan has been at Stewarts for 23 years and has specialised in catastrophic injury cases throughout his career, with most of his clients having sustained a spinal cord injury or brain injury.
Dan has been involved in more than 70 cases in which the claimant received compensation in excess of £1m. He has been recognised as a leading personal injury lawyer by Chambers for more than 15 years. He is described as “an utterly first class lawyer”, “highly knowledgeable”, “frighteningly intelligent” and “passionate about the litigation and also about looking after the clients throughout the process”.
In leading Clinical Negligence, Dan will be supported by Clinical Negligence partners Robert Dransfield, Frank Pinch, Nick Knowles, Hugh Johnson, Amy Heath and Alison Goldney, all of whom have pivotal roles to play in the operational management of the department.
