Stewarts and Wisner Law Firm have successfully resolved more than 97% of the cases in a US lawsuit brought on behalf of passengers and crew arising out of an incident involving a British Airways Boeing 777 aircraft at Las Vegas-McCarran International Airport on 8 September 2015.

The lawsuit, brought against Boeing and General Electric, was filed in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois (USA) and claimed compensation for various defects in the aircraft.

James Healy-Pratt, Head of Aviation at Stewarts, commented:

“Floyd Wisner and I are pleased that we have been able to resolve over 97% of the claims relating to the US case against the manufacturing defendants on confidential terms.

This has been achieved in a short amount of time – around the first anniversary of the accident. By bringing a case in the US, the UK passengers will be receiving compensation that is significantly more than what they would have received if the cases had been brought in the UK.

More importantly, this is another positive result for air safety, and a clear example of why it is important for air passengers to seek advice from expert aviation lawyers.”
