Esther has significant experience of acting in litigation for clients with life changing and catastrophic injuries. She has acted in a variety of cases involving orthopaedic injuries, delays in diagnosis and treatment of spinal abscess, injuries sustained during surgery, fatal accidents, birth injuries, delays in treating meningitis, and late diagnosis of cauda equina syndrome. Esther represents clients who have received substandard medical care in either NHS or private healthcare settings, and has experience of representing children and protected parties.

Experience

  • Advising a client in a case involving late diagnosis of cauda equina syndrome. A seven figure damages settlement was agreed.
  • Advising a client in respect of treatment leading to a delay in diagnosis and treatment of anterior thoracic herniation of the spinal cord. A seven figure damages settlement was agreed.
  • Advising a client in respect of delays in the diagnosis and treatment of a spinal infection leading to permanent life changing injuries. A seven figure damages settlement was agreed.
  • Advising a client in a case involving failure to recognise the symptoms of meningitis. A six figure damages settlement was agreed.

Career

Esther joined Stewarts in 2016 having previously worked as a solicitor at Irwin Mitchell. She trained at Leigh Day. Esther has a first class honours degree in History and obtained distinctions in both the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course.

Personal

Esther enjoys spending time with her young children. When not at soft play centres, she is often swimming, walking in the Peak District, cooking and travelling.
