Mary has experience in a range of commercial disputes, including fraud, insolvency, asset recovery, professional negligence, and shareholder and partnership disputes. She has advised private and corporate clients and state bodies.

 

Career

Mary qualified into the Commercial Litigation department in October 2022 on the conclusion of her training contract. She completed seats in the Commercial Litigation, Tax Litigation and Resolution, Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence departments.

Mary is a member of the LSLA (London Solicitors Litigation Association).

Experience

 

  • Acting for a foreign public institution with respect to a multi-jurisdictional fraud claim worth c.$1 billion
  • Advising on the £1 billion Phones 4U litigation in relation to allegations of anti-competitive arrangements by mobile network operators
  • Acting in the Ingenious Litigation for over 300 claimants bringing claims against various parties, including banks, in fraudulent misrepresentation, conspiracy and negligence, which arose out of their investments in tax-efficient film schemes.
  • Acting in the Brake v Guy litigation in relation to concurrent proceedings arising from a company acquisition and property transactions, including for Chedington Court Estate Limited in a £18m deceit claim
  • Acting for an individual in a cross-border misrepresentation claim against their former employer and its partners
