Expertise

Alice specialises in all areas of family law, but has particular experience advising on high-value financial disputes arising from relationship breakdowns. Many of her cases involve international elements and complex asset, trust and remuneration structures.

Alice also has experience in a wide range of matters involving children including disagreements in relation to contact arrangements both in and out of court, cases involving allegations of abuse and alienation, as well as financial provision for children.

In addition, she has experience of cases involving domestic abuse and has successfully obtained non-molestation orders on behalf of her clients. Alice has also assisted in the drafting and negotiation of pre and post-nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements.

Experience

  • Acts for a respondent husband in High Court proceedings, in which complex arguments of special contribution and post-separation accrual are considered in respect of the husband’s c.£280 million shareholding.
  • Acted for the applicant father in Children Act proceedings, in which he was successful in obtaining a 50:50 shared care arrangement. When the father first approached Stewarts he was being denied all contact with the child.
  • Acted for the applicant wife in divorce and financial remedy proceedings involving complicated trust structures and deficient disclosure on behalf of the husband. The matter proceeded to final hearing before an arbitrator where a successful outcome was achieved.
  • Successfully navigated numerous clients through disclosure, negotiation and eventual settlement without the need for court involvement.

Career

Alice graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Durham, before completing a Masters and the Legal Practice Course. She initially joined Stewarts as a paralegal in 2019 before undertaking her training contract and qualifying in October 2021.
