Rebecca has acted in a number of highly complex claims arising predominantly as a result of road traffic accidents and has achieved a number of multimillion pound settlements for clients suffering catastrophic and life-changing injuries. Rebecca also has expertise in cases with a cross-border element, such as foreign nationals injured in the UK, and UK citizens injured on holiday.

Experience

Claims conducted by Rebecca include representing a young child rendered quadriplegic by a car accident, as well as a number of claims where one incident has caused catastrophic injury or death to several people, such as work colleagues or members of the same family.

Rebecca is a key member of the Personal Injury team in Leeds, consistently achieving the highest rankings in The Legal 500 and Chambers.

Career

After qualifying in 2006, Rebecca spent the first years of her career doing complex clinical negligence work before joining Stewarts in 2009.

Publications

Rebecca has published technical articles in APIL’s monthly publication PI Focus, including an article on the treatment of criminal convictions under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Schemes, and What’s in a Name? an article about amending statements of case before and after expiry of the limitation period. Rebecca also delivers courses at a number of brain injury rehabilitation units on consent to medical treatment and ‘defensible’ record keeping, as well as in house at Stewarts.

Accreditations and Memberships

Rebecca is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. She is also an active Chair of Headway Hull & East Riding, a local branch of a national charity providing support to survivors of brain injury, as well as their families and carers.

Personal

A keen ice dancer, Rebecca has established an adult synchronised skating team, and leads them to international competitions every year as team captain.
