The firm set up its charity of the year initiative, giving staff the opportunity to nominate and vote for one charity to receive a one-off grant from the firm, as well as fundraising support from staff during the year. Next year will be the second year of this initiative and Stewarts’ staff have chosen to support CHICKS.
During 2017 the firm promoted two to the partnership and made four lateral hires – Ian Gatt QC, David Hughes, Kenny Henderson and Matthew Knowles joined as partners in the Commercial Litigation, Competition Litigation and International Arbitration departments.

We obtained a £28m settlement agreement on behalf of an eight-year-old girl who suffered a severe brain injury. This is believed to be the highest award ever approved by the High Court in this country.
