LIDW 2025
This issue of International CARBitration coincides with London International Disputes Week 2025 (LIDW25), taking place from Monday 2 to Friday 6 June. Across the week, leading practitioners from around the world will gather in London to discuss the latest developments shaping international dispute resolution.
Members of Stewarts’ International Arbitration team will be actively involved throughout the week, co‑hosting a series of events alongside trusted law firms, chambers and fellow LIDW member organisations. As with much of international arbitration, the week is defined as much by the conversations that happen between sessions as by the formal programme itself.
To support those moving between events, issue four of International CARBitration focuses on London, bringing together a curated selection of cafés, restaurants and bars located within easy walking distance of key LIDW venues. These recommendations are designed to be practical as well as considered: places for a quick coffee, a relaxed lunch or an informal evening drink.
A number of recommendations sit close to major LIDW locations. The Winemakers Club, a short walk from the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, offers a convivial but low‑key setting for continuing discussions after sessions. Near Twenty Essex, contributors highlight Rules, London’s oldest restaurant, combining history and formality in a way that mirrors the city’s legal heritage. Other nearby favourites include Cabotte, known for refined French cooking, and The Cinnamon Club, offering a distinctive take on Indian cuisine in elegant surroundings.
Reflecting London’s range and contemporary energy, the list also features more informal options close to LIDW venues, including Chi Noodle, Min Jiang, and Terra Rossa near St Paul’s, alongside relaxed bars such as Black Parrot, suitable for an end‑of‑day wind‑down.
Together, these recommendations offer a snapshot of London as both a global disputes hub and a city shaped by diverse culinary influences, reflecting the international community that LIDW brings together each year.
