Cheryl Palmer-Hughes has joined Stewarts’ leading Aviation and International Injury team as a partner.
Cheryl has over 15 years’ experience in representing those who have suffered complex brain and spinal cord injuries as a result of incidents abroad. She acts exclusively for Claimants who have been injured whilst travelling, on holiday and working abroad and often represents bereaved families in fatal accident claims.
Cheryl has particular experience of representing visitors from other countries who are injured in the UK as well as representing English Claimants pursuing claims in the US.
Chambers and the Legal 500 have recognised Cheryl for her work in the international personal injury field. Her arrival at Stewarts creates a team of six partners specialising in acting for seriously injured or bereaved claimants in Travel law and Aviation cases. This consolidates the firm’s position of having more lawyers recognised in Chambers for these two interlinked specialist areas than any other firm in the country.
Cheryl Palmer-Hughes comments:
“I am thrilled to be joining Stewarts and their leading Aviation and International Injury team. Their reputation precedes them and I look forward to combining our experience, knowledge and market leading expertise to the benefit of our clients.”
Julian Chamberlayne, Head of Aviation and International Injury comments:
“Cheryl has a rare combination of an exceptional understanding of travel law issues, excellent working relationships with like-minded lawyers from around the globe and a reputation for paying close attention to meeting her client’s needs. Her arrival at Stewarts will further strengthen our teams ability to guide our clients through the complexities of international claims relating to life changing injuries.”
Stuart Dench, Managing Partner comments:
“I am delighted to welcome Cheryl to the partnership, adding yet more strength to our serious injury practice. Our firm has a long history in this area and it remains a key focus for us as we continue to implement our growth strategy.”
The injury group has expanded over the past few years, with the arrival of Anita Jewitt in September 2024, and Jane Pyrah in December 2024.
Cheryl’s arrival brings the number of partners at Stewarts to 92, which includes 30 Partners across the firm’s Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence and Aviation and International Injury departments. Those teams comprise 60 specialist lawyers dealing with serious injury claims.
