Stewarts has featured on the annual ‘100 Best Companies to Work for’ list for a fifth year running. 

Twenty law firms featured in the list, and we placed seventh. We placed 43rd on the ‘Best Large Companies to work for in London’ sub-category and sixth in the ‘Best Companies to work for in Yorkshire & The Humber’ sub-category.

Seventy-six per cent of staff agreed that their manager cares about how satisfied they are in their job, with one colleague praising the appraisal system for being comprehensive.

Sixty-eight per cent of staff agreed they were happy with their work and home balance. One member of staff commented: “Staff working from home during the pandemic received advice on health, travel, stress and managing family life, while their professional training continued online. The social side of the office was maintained, too; yoga poses were held, team drinks were drunk, and the choir sang.”

Seventy-one per cent of staff agreed they were paid fairly for the work they do, with one mentioning employees being rewarded for innovation and good citizenship.

The firm’s mental health first aider programme was also mentioned as a standout point. Not only is the programme popular, but the formal qualification offered resulted in additional job satisfaction among those able to provide the service.

This year’s ceremony was a little different, being held virtually due to the pandemic on 21 May 2021.
