Stewarts have been listed as a finalist in two categories at the 2019 Yorkshire Legal Awards, for Law Firm of the Year (Large), and for the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Award.

The Law Firm of the Year category was open to firms based in Yorkshire with over 250 employees, and took into account a firm’s performance in a number of areas including, recognition by clients and other firms, training initiatives and dedication to development and welfare of staff, contributing to the legal and wider community including through pro bono initiatives.

The Litigation and Dispute Resolution award is open to both individual and team nominations who are involved in civil, commercial or criminal litigation and alternative dispute resolution methods. The award is judged on a team’s involvement in significant cases, achievement in a particular practice area, dedication to clients, innovative use of litigation funding, as well as wider non-work related activities such as marketing and community contribution.

Stewarts has had a presence in Yorkshire since 2003 when the current Head of our Leeds office, Daniel Herman established the Leeds office to meet the needs of the firm’s expanding client base in the north of England. Since 2003, the office has grown from three to 66 staff.

The Yorkshire Legal Awards, “bring together this region’s legal community to recognise and celebrate its myriad achievements”. They awards were established in 2000 to recognise outstanding talent across the region.
