Our Trust and Probate Litigation team has been named Contentious Trusts & Estates Team of the Year at the Chambers High Net Worth Awards 2020.
The team is described by the Chambers High Net Worth guide as “highly regarded”, with one international adviser remarking: “It’s always a very good experience working with the firm. The lawyers are very careful and empathetic.” A wealth expert notes: “They are doing some spectacular work.” The guide also comments on the team’s track record in offshore and international cases.

The team has expanded this year with the hire of Geoff Kertesz. The guide describes Geoff as “excellent – proactive, practical and he keeps me informed”. James Price is described as being “a fabulous litigator who is astute and sharp”. Luca del Panta, who joined in 2018, was recently listed as a ‘High Achiever’ by STEP and was a winner of their Worldwide Excellence Award. Catriona Abraham qualified into the team this year after training at Stewarts following a career in investment management.
The most recent publishable case of note that the department has worked on is in relation to proceedings arising out of the dispute between Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) and JP Morgan. The award ceremony was held virtually this year due to the social distancing measures in place because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
