Expertise
Miriam advises on a wide range of trust disputes often with an offshore element. Miriam has experience in the English Courts and internationally in jurisdictions such as Bermuda, Guernsey and the Bahamas.
Miriam also has experience in the resolution of probate disputes, including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and will validity challenges.
Miriam has additional expertise in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.
Experience
- Acting for the minors and unborn children in Inheritance Act proceedings, involving a successful application for non-party disclosure in the Family Division: AB v B & Anor [2025] EWHC 1891 (Fam)
- Advising the trustees in a dispute between members of an ultra-high-net-worth family, including the High Court decision of Salem & Anor v Salem & Ors [2024] EWHC 3311 (Ch) which provided clarity on “agreements to agree”.
Career
Miriam joined Stewarts as a paralegal in October 2018 and qualified into the Trust and Probate team as an Associate in October 2023. During her training contract, Miriam completed seats with the Knowledge Management, Trust and Probate, Divorce and Family and International Arbitration departments.
