Ronan has experience of a range of complex, high-value disputes including litigation in the commercial, tax and media spheres as well as international arbitration. The cases he has worked on have included allegations of fraud, group-actions, shareholder disputes and breach of contract.

Experience

Ronan’s experience includes acting:

  • in a multi-million pound dispute relating to the acquisition of investments in ground rents.
  • for 177 claimants bringing claims against HSBC, including for conspiracy (as agent and joint tortfeasor with Future Films Limited). The claims arise from investments in various tax-efficient investment vehicles focused on films.
  • for a Nigerian oil & gas company in multiple ICC arbitrations brought by a consortium of lenders in connection with a US$ billions financing of an onshore oilfield interest.
  • for a Qatari corporate in LCIA arbitration proceedings in connection with supplies of liquefied natural gas into Ghana.

Career

Ronan studied History at the University of Nottingham before completing the GDL and LPC at BPP Law School. He then worked as a paralegal in the International Arbitration and Commercial Litigation departments before commencing his training contract in 2023.

Personal

Ronan unwinds by keeping active and particularly enjoys playing golf and tennis. He is also interested in American history and sampling new cuisines whenever possible.
