Lawyers from across our London and Leeds offices are included in the Pro Bono Recognition List 2025, which recognises solicitors (and barristers) who have completed 25 or more hours of pro bono legal assistance in the previous calendar year.

Set up under the sponsorship of the Attorney General’s Pro Bono Committee, endorsed by the Lady Chief Justice and with the support of The Law Society, The Bar Council of England and Wales and all major pro bono legal organisations, the Recognition List celebrates the contribution of individual lawyers at firms and organisations of all sizes who provide pro bono legal help to those in need.

In 2024 we celebrated 20 years of The Legal Service, our unique pro bono service that offers free legal support to seriously injured NHS patients, many of whom do not have a potential claim for compensation. The Legal Service helps patients being treated in trauma and rehabilitation centres across the UK.

The Legal Service

In 2024 we celebrated 20 years of The Legal Service, our unique pro bono service that offers free legal support to seriously injured NHS patients, many of whom do not have a potential claim for compensation.

Kara Smith comments: “We are proud to be able to support our clients and their families at a time when they most need it. During my years working as part of the Legal Service, I have seen first-hand how freely available legal advice provides that much-needed support and guidance and ultimately helps to change lives.”

Over the past calendar year, our team:

  • Assisted 563 seriously injured people
  • Spent almost 9,000 hours working on non-legal compensation issues
  • Dedicated an average of 16 hours per seriously injured person

More information on our pro bono work completed in 2024 is available in our first Injury Group Annual Review.
