Spinal injury

Stewarts Law have a well-deserved reputation as spinal injury specialists acting for patients with claims, at home and abroad. If you have a spinal cord injury and entrust your legal claim to Stewarts Law, then you will be well looked after.

(Brian Gardner, Consultant in Spinal Injuries)

We have been acting for clients with spinal cord injury since the firm was formed. We deal with accidents however and wherever they occur. We are currently litigating more spinal injury cases than any other law firm in the United Kingdom.

We appreciate that the demands of those with spinal injury are substantial and complex and therefore our lawyers handle smaller caseloads than the majority of personal injury lawyers, thereby ensuring a proactive and client focused legal service.

In cases where liability is unlikely to be strongly contested, we obtain interim payments which are used to purchase accommodation, equipment and the setting up of care regimes. We employ Independent Living Advisors, who are themselves spinal cord injured, and are therefore able to help with advice on issues such as equipment, vehicles and holidays.

When the case is won, we will also advise on the setting up of trusts to protect means tested benefits and on the investment of damages through our links with specialist financial advisors.

It is essential in our view that every person who has suffered a spinal cord injury should seek legal advice as to whether a claim for compensation can be made. Very often, people fail to seek proper advice on the assumption that no claim for personal injury exists. We are prepared to look at the details of any case and provide expert advice as to whether a claim for compensation can be brought.
