We are pleased to confirm that nine new trainees have begun their training contracts at Stewarts this October, including seven in London and two in Leeds. From our 2022 trainee cohort we welcome five newly qualified lawyers to Associate roles at Stewarts.

Managing partner Stuart Dench comments: “We are very pleased to welcome nine outstanding applicants to start training contracts at Stewarts this year. Nurturing homegrown talent is a key pillar of our strategy and the firm’s culture, and I look forward to seeing this cohort of trainees develop into excellent lawyers.

“This year we are also proud to retain five newly qualified associates upon the completion of their training contracts. The broad range of practice areas they qualify into is testament to the firmwide growth we anticipate into 2025 and beyond. Congratulations to all of them.”

Our new trainees in 2024

Having previously worked as paralegals at Stewarts, our new cohort begin their training contract with the firm in October 2024. During the next two years the trainees will rotate around our legal departments and dedicated Knowledge team.

Our new trainees are:

We recruit our trainees exclusively from our existing paralegal pool; we are one of only a handful of firms to adopt this strategy.

Carly Kinch, the firm’s training partner, is a former Stewarts paralegal who went on to train and qualify at the firm in 2009. She was made a partner in the Divorce and Family team in 2018 and appointed as training partner in 2023.

Our training contracts are litigation focused and satisfy Law Society training requirements. Trainees are supervised by either a partner or senior associate, and have access to the whole department’s expertise and support. All paralegals at Stewarts are eligible to apply for our training contracts, regardless of length of service.
