Jemma Goddard and Lavinia Randall have joined the Trust and Probate Litigation department, joining existing team members James Price, Geoff Kertesz, Emma Holland, Luca del Panta and Catriona Abraham.

Jemma joins from Wedlake Bell, where she has worked since 2018. Jemma specialises in bringing and defending a broad range of estate and trust related claims, acting for beneficiaries, trustees and executors. She is ranked as a Rising Star in the Legal 500 2021, which also describes her as a “future star” and a “safe pair of hands”.

Lavinia joins from BDB Pitmans, where she trained and has been a solicitor since 2016. Lavinia advises trustees, beneficiaries and executors on a range of trust and probate disputes, both in the UK and offshore. Lavinia is described in the Legal 500 2020 as ‘an excellent up-and-coming lawyer’.

Jemma and Lavinia join the department at a very busy time, with a number of new large scale instructions having been received over recent months. The department now comprises seven people who specialise in complex and high value trust and probate litigation.

James Price, Head of Trust and Probate Litigation, comments:

“We are delighted to welcome Lavinia and Jemma to our growing department. We’ve had a great year, having won Trust and Estates Team of the Year at the Chambers HNW Awards and having received some fabulous directory results. Jemma and Lavinia will assist with our ever expanding workload, giving additional firepower to the team.”

The Trust and Probate Litigation team at Stewarts was established by James Price in August 2016. It has grown rapidly over the past five years, and has recently been involved in a number of reported cases both onshore and offshore.

Five of the team are recognised in The Legal 500 and Chambers HNW, four in the Private Client Global Elite, three in Spear’s, and two in Tatler.
